Best Times to Plant

🌱 Ideal Seasons:

• February-April (before summer heat)

• September-November (fall root establishment)

What You'll Need

✔ Round-point shovel & pickaxe (for rocky areas)

✔ Hardwood mulch (available at our nurseries)

✔ Hose with slow trickle setting

Step-by-Step Planting Guide

1. Dig the Texas-Tough Hole

For Central Texas Soils:

• Width: 3x root ball diameter (our rocky soil needs space)

• Depth: Same as container height

• Shape: Rough sides (no smooth "post hole digger" walls)

2. Prepare Your ATX Trees Specimen

1. Remove Container: Lay tree sideways, cut pot away

2. Root Inspection: Gently loosen circling roots

3. Special Care: For balled-and-burlap trees, remove wire cage

1. Set tree 1-2" higher than surrounding grade

2. Backfill with native soil only (no amendments)

3. Build watering berm around drip line
